What this value means
The fixed rate on the ECB's main refinancing operations (MRO). This is the reference rate the EU Late Payment Directive (2011/7/EU) uses, and is DISTINCT from the deposit facility rate carried as `policy-rate` (since 18 Sep 2024 the MRO sits 15bp above the DFR; the spread was 50bp before that). Identical across the euro area.
