What this value means
Slovakia applies NO weekend substitution: Act 241/1993 contains no transfer or day-in-lieu provision and the Labour Code provides none, so a holiday falling on a Saturday or Sunday is simply lost. Four are lost that way in 2026 and six in 2027. IMPORTANT EXCLUSION: 1 September (Deň Ústavy, Constitution Day) and 28 October (Deň vzniku samostatného česko-slovenského štátu) are NOT listed here. Both remain statutory štátne sviatky, but they were expressly removed from the days of rest and are not sviatky for Labour Code purposes, so they are ordinary working days carrying no holiday premium; listing them would overstate the non-working calendar. They are the only two such exceptions. 2027 dates are the statutory calendar with Western-Easter feasts computed for Easter Sunday 28 March 2027; no annual instrument is required in Slovakia.
