Czechia minimum wage
Minimální mzda — the statutory national monthly minimum wage for a standard 40-hour week, applicable across all sectors and regions (no geographic zones). Legal basis: § 111 of the zákoník práce (Act No. 262/2006 Sb., Labour Code); from 2025 the amount is set by an annual formula rather than a discretionary government figure, uprated on 1 January.

MECHANISM (changed from 2025): a 2024 amendment to § 111 of the Labour Code tied the minimum wage to a formula — minimum wage = coefficient x the predicted average gross monthly nominal wage in the national economy (forecast by the Ministry of Finance). The government sets the coefficient by nařízení vlády (Government Regulation No. 285/2024 Sb. set 0.422 for 2025 and 0.434 for 2026), and the resulting koruna amount for the year is then announced by an MPSV sdělení (No. 356/2025 Sb. for 2026). In 2026 the minimum wage reaches 43.4% of the average wage (42.2% in 2025); the government has committed to raise this ratio toward 47% by 2029, so future annual figures will rise mechanically with the coefficient path and the wage forecast. Separately, the former system of multi-level 'zaručená mzda' (guaranteed wage) tiers was reduced/reformed alongside the minimum-wage formula change.
