What this value means
Gross statutory minimum of EUR 920 per month for salaried (white-collar) employees and EUR 41.09 per day for wage-earners (blue-collar / imeromisthioi), from 1 April 2026, a 4.55% increase on the EUR 880 that applied from 1 April 2025. PAID 14 TIMES A YEAR: the monthly figure is multiplied across 14 payments, not 12 - twelve ordinary monthly salaries plus a full month's Christmas bonus (doro Christougennon), half a month's Easter bonus (doro Pascha) and half a month's leave allowance (epidoma adeias). The gross annual minimum is therefore about EUR 12,880 (920 x 14), which spread over 12 months is roughly EUR 1,073 per month - but the legally set figure and the figure quoted in the Ministerial Decision is the EUR 920 monthly amount served here. MECHANISM: since Law 4172/2013 (Art. 103) and Law 4093/2012, the minimum wage is no longer set by national collective agreement (EGSSE) but is fixed by Ministerial Decision after a statutory consultation procedure run by the Ministry of Labour, drawing on reports from the social partners, the Bank of Greece, KEPE and independent research bodies; it is reviewed annually. The single national minimum abolished the earlier distinction between blue- and white-collar collective minima, and since 2019 the sub-minimum youth rate (for under-25s) was abolished so the same floor applies regardless of age. The government has stated an objective of EUR 950 by 2027.
