NOTE THE UNIT: Malta legislates a WEEKLY rate, not a monthly one. 229.44 EUR/week for age 18 and over from 2026-01-01, with 222.66 for age 17 and 219.82 below 17; the 2026 rise includes a statutory cost-of-living component of 4.66 EUR/week. The monthly equivalent is 994.24 EUR on the exact conversion of 229.44 x 52 / 12 - and the basis matters, because a x4.333 shortcut gives 994.36 and a x4 shortcut gives 917.76, so any monthly figure must state its conversion. Increases reflect both the statutory cost-of-living adjustment and the Low Wage Commission's multi-year agreement running to 2027, so a further rise is due on 2027-01-01 by an instrument not yet issued. Secondary-confirmed: legislation.mt would not render the Order. RECONFIRMED 2026-10-28: reconfirm.
