What this value means

14 days each year - five National Holidays (Freedom Day, Sette Giugno, Victory Day, Independence Day, Republic Day) and nine Other Public Holidays. Malta does NOT substitute a weekend-falling holiday: the calendar date is not moved, so a working-day count is safe. IMPORTANT DISTINCTION: the day is nevertheless not simply lost, because a 2021 reform restored the pre-2005 position of CREDITING a weekend-falling public holiday to the employee's annual leave entitlement. That leave-credit rule is real but its instrument could not be verified, so it is recorded here and not served as data: a Malta holiday flag from this API answers whether the date is a public holiday, NOT what leave entitlement arises. Three days fall on a weekend in each of 2026 and 2027. PROVISIONAL: every Maltese government host returns HTTP 403 to automated reads and legislation.mt serves an un-extractable JavaScript viewer, so although Cap. 252 was confirmed to exist and be in force, its Schedules were NOT read - these names and dates are reconstructed from corroborating sources and should be verified against the statute before being relied on.
