These 13 days are the feriados OBRIGATORIOS listed in Article 234(1) of the Codigo do Trabalho and apply nationwide. MOVEABLE FEASTS for 2026, computed from Easter Sunday 5 April 2026 (Gregorian computus): Sexta-feira Santa / Good Friday = Easter minus 2 = 3 April; Domingo de Pascoa / Easter Sunday = 5 April (always a Sunday, but listed as an obligatory feriado in the statute); Corpo de Deus / Corpus Christi = Easter plus 60 = 4 June (a Thursday). The other ten are fixed-date. NO MONDAYISATION / NO LIEU DAY: Portuguese law has no general substitution rule, so a holiday on a weekend is simply lost. Article 234(2) allows Sexta-feira Santa to be observed on another locally significant day during the Easter period.
