Serbia minimum wage

Serbia has NO statutory monthly minimum wage. Under Član 112 of the Zakon o radu the Socijalno-ekonomski savet (or, failing agreement within 15 days, the Government) fixes a MINIMALNA CENA RADA expressed per working hour, net of taxes and contributions, for a calendar year, by 15 September of the preceding year, applying from 1 January. The monthly minimum earnings (minimalna zarada) are then computed per Član 111 as hourly rate × hours actually worked in that month, so they vary month to month.

What this value means

THE STATUTORY FIGURE IS AN HOURLY NET RATE — 371.00 RSD — and nothing else. There is no statutory monthly minimum wage in Serbia; anyone quoting one has computed it. IMPLIED MONTHLY NET RANGE FOR 2026 (derived here, NOT statutory): the monthly minimum earnings equal 371 RSD × the standard working-hour fund of the month (Mon–Fri × 8h). In 2026 that fund runs from 160h (February) to 184h (July and December), i.e. roughly 59,360–68,264 RSD net per month; the 2026 total is 2,088 hours over 261 working days = 774,648 RSD net for a full year. Month-by-month 2026 hour funds: Jan 176, Feb 160, Mar 176, Apr 176, May 168, Jun 176, Jul 184, Aug 168, Sep 176, Oct 176, Nov 168, Dec 184. GROSS cost to the employer is higher again (employee income tax and employee/employer social contributions sit on top of the net figure) and is not modelled here. WHO DECIDES: Zakon o radu Član 112 stav 1 gives the decision to the tripartite Socijalno-ekonomski savet; stav 2 transfers it to the Government if the Savet fails to decide within 15 days of the start of negotiations. The 2026 figure was set by the GOVERNMENT under stav 2 (the 2025 figure had been set by the Savet under stav 1) — the social partners did not agree. Član 112 stav 6 also forbids setting it below the previous year's level. TRAP — IT IS NOT PURELY ANNUAL: on 15 July 2025 the Socijalno-ekonomski savet passed an extra Odluka ('Sl. glasnik RS' 67/2025, 31 Jul 2025) raising the rate mid-cycle from 308.00 to 337.00 RSD/hour with effect from 1 October 2025, overriding the annual 2025 decision. Član 111 stav 5 makes the applicable rate the one in force for the MONTH OF PAYMENT, which is what lets a mid-year change bite immediately. Treat this series as revisable in-year, not once a year. Next annual decision due by 15 September 2026, effective 1 January 2027.
