What this value means
Reference month June 2026, published 2 July 2026 by the BFS. LIK index level 101.3 (base December 2025 = 100 — the series was rebased at the start of 2026, so 2026 index levels are near 100 and not comparable in level to the old May 2020=100 base). Month-on-month change was 0.0% (prices stable); year-on-year +0.5%, easing from +0.6% in May 2026 and below the +0.6% consensus. Swiss inflation is very low but has stayed POSITIVE through 2026 (it briefly touched slightly negative territory in mid-2025, which is what drove the SNB to 0%). It sits comfortably inside the SNB's 0-2% price-stability band; the SNB's June 2026 forecast puts average annual inflation at ~0.6% for 2026-2027. Next release: July 2026 LIK, early August 2026.
