Reference month June 2026, released 3 July 2026. June 2026: MoM +0.99%, YoY +32.11%, +17.76% since December 2025, twelve-month average +32.03%. BASE-YEAR TRAP: TÜİK rebased the TÜFE to 2025=100 with the January 2026 release (the old series was 2003=100). Index LEVELS before and after are not comparable and any stored level series must be re-keyed; the rate-of-change figures served here are on the new basis and are continuous. Composition in June 2026: food and non-alcoholic beverages +35.45% YoY (8.61pp of the total), housing/water/electricity/gas/other fuels +45.14% (5.92pp), transport +31.15% (5.19pp). Core: the C index (excluding energy, food and non-alcoholic beverages, alcohol, tobacco and gold) rose 29.84% YoY and 1.46% MoM — core is now BELOW headline. Of 174 COICOP sub-classes, 138 rose, 26 fell and 10 were unchanged. Disinflation is real but slow: annual TÜFE has drifted in a 30.6-32.6% band all through H1 2026 after 42.12% in January 2025, and the June print is only 0.50pp below May. That matters for the policy-rate series — with the one-week repo at 37% the ex-post real policy rate is roughly 4-5pp, not the double-digit real rate a casual reader would assume. Türkiye also publishes an unusually contested inflation number: the independent ENAG group publishes a much higher alternative index — DO NOT SERVE ENAG, TÜİK is the official producer. Next release: TÜFE Temmuz 2026 on 03 August 2026.
