What this value means

National CPI +3.1% y/y for June 2026. BASE-YEAR CHANGE: from January 2026 CYSTAT rebased the national CPI to 2025 = 100 (previously 2015 = 100) and adopted ECOICOP version 2 with 2023 household-budget-survey weights, so index levels are not comparable across that break. IMPORTANT DIVERGENCE: the Eurostat-harmonised HICP for the same month was 4.1%, a full percentage point higher. The gap is explainable by the different basket and weights plus the fresh rebasing, but the two are separate series and must never be reconciled or averaged - this series is the national CPI. Main drivers were petroleum at +21.17% and agricultural goods at +9.01%; euro-area HICP was 2.8% for comparison. Secondary-confirmed: gov.cy hosts refuse connections, so the CYSTAT release was not read directly.
