What this value means
Headline (índice general) YoY for June 2026 = 3.2%, unchanged from May. Definitive figure published 15 July 2026, superseding the flash estimate (indicador adelantado) released 30 June. Other June 2026 readings from the same release, for context and cross-checks: core inflation (inflación subyacente — excluding unprocessed food and energy) fell one tenth to 2.9%; monthly change of the general index +0.6%; the EU-harmonised IPCA annual rate was 3.6% (also unchanged from May), i.e. FOUR TENTHS ABOVE the national IPC — the gap arises from differing weights and coverage (notably owner-occupied housing and the treatment of subsidised items), so never substitute IPCA for IPC or vice versa. Housing was the largest upward contributor to the annual rate; transport fell relative to June 2025. The step up from 2.3% in February to 3.4% in March 2026 reflects energy base effects and the Middle East conflict-driven oil shock also cited by the ECB in its 11 June 2026 decision.
