What this value means
Poland fixes two Civil Code statutory interest rates as the NBP reference rate plus a margin: odsetki ustawowe = reference + 3.5pp (art. 359 § 2); odsetki ustawowe za opóźnienie = reference + 5.5pp (art. 481 § 2). Both track the NBP reference rate continuously — they change on the day the NBP rate changes. This series is DERIVED live from this API's policy-rate series, so value and history move with the reference automatically. The commercial-transactions late-payment rate (odsetki za opóźnienie w transakcjach handlowych; larger margin, half-yearly snapshot) is served separately in the `late-payment-interest` series.
